I'm Billy.

I’ve been a therapist since 2000 and have worked historically worked for many organisations,

these days I am focused on my private practice.

​

As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I have thousands of hours experience

with many hundreds of people with just about every issue.

I'm also an experienced Supervisor to other counsellors.

Ten years ago I found out by accident that I have Asperger’s Syndrome, which explained a lot of my

past and helped my own recovery immensely, as a result working with Asperger’s looks is my future.

I pursuing a Doctorate questioning  what happens when therapists work with Asperger’s, finding out 
where and how it goes wrong - as we know it often does.

However I’m out to change that.

I want to establish how therapists can help people with Asperger’s

in a more comprehensive way than is being done currently.

I’m also interested in exploring the other ways of helping, utilising other people beside counsellors and
psychotherapists and evaluating what they can offer.

These questions will wrestle with how people on the Autistic Spectrum are treated societally,

but on a personal level I'm seeking to identify how we can better help those on the Spectrum,

and their ‘neurotypical’ loved ones, with great clinical practice.

As part of this I’m creating a wider service to do just that.

That doesn’t mean I only support people on the Autistic Spectrum,

far from it,

a great deal of my work hasn’t involved people with Autism at all.
